Helen Dobra – the heart of Seed of Wellbeing

Mindbody Health Bowen Therapy, Somatic Release, TRTP, Qigong & Mindfulness In Person & Online

Helen Dobra is a holistic health practitioner, educator, and passionate advocate for natural healing with over 16 years of clinical experience in the Clarence Valley, NSW.

Drawing on Bowen Therapy as a foundation, Helen integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy, Qigong, somatic trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness, and modern mind-body practices to support people experiencing chronic pain, stress, trauma, complex health conditions, and emotional wellbeing challenges.

What sets Helen's work apart is her commitment to empowering individuals rather than creating dependence on therapy. While many approaches focus primarily on managing symptoms, Helen helps clients develop practical tools, self-awareness, and resilience so they can become active participants in their own healing journey. Her goal is to help people understand the underlying factors contributing to their symptoms and create lasting change from within.

While modern healthcare often separates physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing into different disciplines, Helen's approach brings these elements back together. She supports the whole person—body, mind, emotions, and spirit—recognising that lasting wellbeing is often achieved by addressing the broader patterns influencing health rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

Helen works collaboratively with GPs, psychologists, counsellors, and other healthcare professionals to support clients experiencing complex trauma, chronic stress, persistent pain, and long-standing health challenges. Her trauma-informed, somatic-based approach complements both conventional and natural healthcare pathways.

In addition to her clinical work, Helen is co-founder of the Natural Therapy Institute (NTI), has helped facilitate some of the largest online Bowen Therapy educational events to date, and is producer of the multiple award-winning documentary These Two Hands, which shares the story and legacy of Tom Bowen and the Bowen Therapy approach he pioneered.

Through individual sessions, workshops, retreats, Qigong classes, and educational programs, Helen's mission is simple: to help people restore balance, reconnect with their innate capacity to heal, and develop the knowledge and tools to support their own wellbeing long after the session has ended.
