The Heart Behind Seed of Wellbeing
Helen Dobra is a holistic health practitioner, educator, and passionate advocate for natural healing. Based in the Clarence Valley, NSW, she has operated a successful complementary health practice for over 16 years, offering a trauma-informed and integrative approach to chronic pain, complex health conditions, and mental health challenges.
Her work draws on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, and modern somatic therapies to support clients in calming the nervous system, improving emotional and physical regulation, and reconnecting with their natural capacity to heal. Rooted in a deep connection to nature and inspired by her children, family, and community, Helen believes that wellbeing is our natural state — and that healing begins from within.
Helen works collaboratively with GPs, psychologists, and counsellors to support clients with complex trauma and long-standing health issues. Her somatic-based methods help regulate the nervous system and prepare clients to better respond to conventional treatments. This integrated approach is especially effective for individuals who have not progressed with standard care alone, helping them achieve more sustainable and holistic outcomes.
Helen is also the producer of the internationally award-winning documentary These Two Hands, created in collaboration with Starmax Films. The film shares the legacy of Tom Bowen and the healing art he pioneered. It is currently being distributed internationally and is available to view at www.naturaltherapyinstitute.com.
In 2021, Helen co-founded the Natural Therapy Institute (NTI), an online platform offering specialist education for wellness professionals and health enthusiasts. She has hosted some of the largest online Bowen events to date, including Bowen & Beyond 2022, The Bowen Wellness Summit 2023, and The Bowen Global Summit – Ignite Your Abundance 2025. She also founded the Bowen Global Network, a growing international initiative supporting the education, connection, and professional development of Bowen therapists.
Helen facilitates one-on-one and group sessions both locally and internationally, available online and in person. All programs are trauma-informed, evidence-based, and designed to support deep healing and personal transformation from the inside out.
